A Vision Revealed in Time
One
evening, when I was still a teenager, I sought the Lord in prayer as to whether
I would be getting married one day. His reply was, yes!” I asked for a vision of
my future wife and the Lord gave me one. I was so excited that I drew a picture
of what had been shown to me. My illustration looked more like a cartoon than a
realistic drawing, but I ran downstairs to where my mother and aunt were
playing cards. Shoving my ‘work of art’ in front of their eyes, I boldly
declared, “This is the woman that I’ll marry one day!” My aunt laughed saying,
I hope she’ll look better than this!” Although my feelings were hurt, I
remembered that vision every time I looked at my illustration. “About ten years
later, once my wife and I were newly engaged, the vision came to pass. One day
I was sitting on the arm of a sofa and my wife-to-be was standing in front of
me. She leaned in to kiss me, and there it was. I stopped her and said, “This
is my exact vision, you’re the one God sent for me!”
Of
course before this, we were given many other signs that God had drawn us
together. Before my wife had come to the church that I was attending, she
learned prophetically that she was going to her next church to meet her future
husband. At the same time I was told that the woman that I would marry would be
coming into my life. When I was first introduced to my wife, the Lord clearly
spoke to me, “This is your wife!” We remained “friends” for about a year.
However, God was doing a lot to show us that we were meant to be together.
For example, seven months before I started
courting my wife, my younger sister was in a place where I needed to minister
to her often. Jokingly, she dubbed me her personal Moses. So, when we spoke
about the prophecy concerning my coming wife, she said to me, “I wonder what
Moses’ wife’s name means, maybe God will give us a clue about your wife when we
find it. Thumbing through the concordance we discovered that it meant “Little
Bird!” Another sister in the Lord who heard this a little later prophesied that
my wife would be petite, and so much like me in certain ways, so much so that
we would probably even be the same height. All of this, we’d soon learn, was
also true! Later that week, I went to my wife-to-be’s apartment with some other
believers to pray. Once
there, I saw a little bird on her refrigerator. Compelled by the Holy Spirit I
said to her, “What a cute little bird!” She replied, ‘it was given to me by a
sister in my church who used to call me the Lord’s little songbird!”
Genesis
2:18 asserts, “The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I
will make a helper suitable for him.” The Lord truly blessed me with the woman
He preordained for me.
The Lord will meet your needs. Philippians 4:19
reads, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory
by Christ Jesus.” The Lord will work signs and wonders into your life, and give
you dreams and visions. God hasn’t changed since the days of the first
apostles. Acts 5:12 states “…through the hands of the apostles many signs and
wonders were done among the people.” Acts
2:16,17 says, “But this is what was spoken
by the prophet Joel: ‘And it shall come to pass in the
last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons
and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old
men shall dream dreams.”

Prayer Focus:
Dear
Lord,
We
don’t look for signs and wonders to try You. However, signs and wonders are
bound to appear in Your mighty presence. When your Holy Spirit moves in power,
Your gifts are revealed, and You give visions and dreams to Your children.
Thank you for manifesting your Holy Spirit in power in our lives.
In
Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen.
Working
